Coping Corner grew from the belief that when life feels heavy, we naturally look for a corner — a place that feels contained, familiar, and safe enough to pause. We’ve seen this across all ages: children curling into quiet spaces, teens pulling inward, adults seeking somewhere to breathe, and families longing for a place where they can feel understood together. These moments aren’t signs of weakness — they’re human ways of coping.

Coping Corner is created to honour that instinct and transform it into something supportive and healing. This is the corner we intentionally offer to children, individuals, couples, and families — a space where no one is rushed, judged, or expected to have it all figured out. Safety comes first here, and from that, skills are learned, relationships are strengthened, and resilience slowly takes root. Coping Corner is a place where small, steady steps are respected and where growth happens in ways that feel manageable, meaningful, and lasting.

The Story Behind Coping Corner

Coping Corner is a sanctuary for steady progress - a place where safety, skills, and compassion meet to help people thrive.

  • Coping Corner — where progress and growth take root in safe, intentional spaces. We envision a place where healing is approachable, resilience is cultivated, and every person can explore change without judgment. In these carefully held corners, small steps become lasting transformation and shared stories become collective strength.

  • Our mission is to deliver exemplary, evidence-based psychological care within a welcoming and inclusive setting that honours the diverse identities, values, and experiences of those we serve. We are devoted to fostering resilience, advancing mental wellness, and supporting personal and collective growth through compassionate service, ongoing professional development, and meaningful community partnership. We are committed to reducing stigma, promoting education, and ensuring that the highest standard of mental health support is available and responsive to the unique needs of every individual and community member.

  • Coping Corner works with children, teens, adults, couples, and families, offering counselling that is responsive to each person’s unique needs, goals, and life context. We draw from eclectic and integrative range of evidence-based modalities including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Family Systems Therapy, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Narrative Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Play Therapy, and other clinically supported approaches. This flexibility allows care to be thoughtfully tailored, ensuring therapy remains practical, effective, and meaningful at every stage of life.

As the founder of Coping Corner, Kathlyn is dedicated to building a practice rooted in compassion, accessibility, and collaboration. Inspired by the idea of a “corner” as a place of safety and reflection, Coping Corner was created to be a supportive space where progress and growth can take root. Kathlyn’s goal is to offer client-centred care that honours individuality and helps people move forward with confidence, resilience, and meaningful change.
